Here it is, Shakira's own little statue in her hometown Barranquilla.. It don't look much like her though.Shakira herself approved the statue: "It may sound egoistic, but I find it super, when one day I can go to the statue with my children and tell them "Hey, this is apparently your mother, but don't you think I look better in real life?".
The statue is made of iron and is 5 meters high, it weighs 6 tons. The iron for the statue was brought from Colombia to Germany. For the premiere, the statue was wrapped into paper and then the paper was burned off to reveal the statue.
